Scope & Responsibilities

Our scope is all data subjects, whose personal data is collected, in line with the requirements of the UK GDPR.

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is responsible for ensuring that this notice is made available to data subjects prior to Allison Protection Specialists Ltd collecting and/or processing their personal data.

All associates and employees of Allison Protection Specialists Ltd who interact with data subjects are responsible for ensuring that this privacy notice is drawn to the data subject’s attention and their consent to the processing of their personal data is secured.

Who we are?

Allison Protection Specialists Ltd puts together insurance packages to protect people and their businesses, their employees and their families in case horrible things happen to them. Things like heart attacks, strokes, and cancers, or being run over by the No. 9 bus! We can offer tailored protection, that protects you and your business.

Allison Protection Specialists Ltd collects and processes certain personal information about you.

When we do so we are regulated under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, which is underpinned by the Data Protection Act (2018)

We are responsible as the data controller & data processor (UK GDPR Article 30} for all personal information collected for the purposes of those laws. The personal information we collect and use.

Lawful bases for processing of personal data:

The lawful bases for processing are set out in Article 6 of the UK GDPR. At least one of these must apply whenever Allison Protection Specialists Ltd processes your personal data:

– Contract – the processing is necessary for Allison Protection Specialists Ltd to fulfil the obligations of an agreement or contract for the provision of our insurance protection services. Both parties would be provided with a signed copy of the contract and a copy of this privacy notice.

– Legitimate Interests – the processing is necessary, as Allison Protection Specialists Ltd has ascertained the legitimate interest of the individual and/or organisation and explained why the processing of personal data is required to action the legitimate interest. Allison Protection Specialists Ltd reviews our legitimate interest to hold personal data annually via a Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA)

Special Category Data:

Special category data is personal data that needs more protection because it is sensitive. Such data is personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation.

To lawfully process special category data, Allison Protection Specialists Ltd must identify both a lawful basis under Article 6 of the UK GDPR (see above) and a separate condition for processing under Article 9. These do not have to be linked.

Each individual data subject and their relevant special category data will be assessed.

Subsequently, Allison Protection Specialists Ltd will identify one of the following ‘conditions’ for processing the special category data:

– Explicit Consent – the data subject has given explicit consent to the processing of their personal data for one or more specified purposes, except where domestic law provides that the prohibition referred to may not be lifted by the data subject.

– Legal claims or judicial acts – processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims or whenever courts are acting in their judicial capacity.

– Health and social care (with a basis in law) – processing is necessary for reasons of public interest, in the area of, public health, such as protecting against serious cross-border threats to health or ensuring high standards of quality and safety of health care of medicinal products or medical devices, on the basis of Union or Member State law which provides for suitable and specific measures to safeguard the rights and freedoms of the data subject, in particular professional secrecy.

If Allison Protection Specialists Ltd is relying on Health and social care (if authorised by law) as the ‘condition’ for processing the special category data then we will also abide by and meet the associated condition in UK law, set out in Part 1 of Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act (2018).
